Aftercare

Caring for your jewellery is really good practice to ensure its lasting beauty and longevity. Proper maintenance prevents tarnishing, scratches, and damage, allowing you to treasure your pieces for years to come.

We recommend regular cleaning and safe storage to help retain your rings brilliance. Here, we have put together a few helpful tips to keep your jewellery looking fresh and sparkly.

Silver Rings

Regularly clean with a soft polishing cloth (we love Talk Town) to remove tarnish. For a deep clean you can request a professional polish by our in house jewellers here.

Gold Plated Rings

Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals, perfumes, and lotions, as they can cause discolouration or thin the gold layer more quickly. Store separately in a jewellery box or pouch to prevent scratches and wear. Be mindful not to graze the ring against rough surfaces as this can scratch off the gold layer. This includes heavy lifting at the gym, cycling or gardening for example.

Gemstone Rings

Caring for gemstone set rings requires a bit of special attention to preserve their allure. Avoid exposing them to harsh chemicals and extreme temperatures. Clean gently with a soft brush and mild soapy water, avoiding abrasive agents. Store separately to prevent scratching and maintain their lustre.

Engaging in physical activities can lead to wear and tear of gemstone set rings. Impact and friction during sports or manual tasks may cause chipping or the loosening of stones. It is advisable to remove your rings before such activities to protect the gemstones from potential damage and ensure their longevity.

Solid Gold rings

Regularly clean with mild soap and a soft brush to remove dirt and oils. Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals or abrasive materials to preserve a lustrous shine. Store separately when not wearing to prevent scratches.
